This is the Debian GNU/Linux r-cran-tzdb package of tzdb. The tzdb
package offers an up-to-date copy of the IANA Time Zone Database for
portable use by R packages. It also includes the Date library by
Howard Hinnant. tzdb was written by Davis Vaughan.
This package was created by Dirk Eddelbuettel <edd@debian.org>.
The sources were downloaded from the main CRAN site
https://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/
and are also available from all CRAN mirrors as e.g.
https://cran.us.r-project.org/src/contrib/
The package was renamed from its upstream name 'tzdb' to
'r-cran-tzdb' to fit the pattern of CRAN (and non-CRAN) packages
for R.

Description: Provides an up-to-date copy of the Internet Assigned Numbers
Authority (IANA) Time Zone Database. It is updated periodically to
reflect changes made by political bodies to time zone boundaries, UTC
offsets, and daylight saving time rules. Additionally, this package
provides a C++ interface for working with the 'date' library. 'date'
provides comprehensive support for working with dates and date-times,
which this package exposes to make it easier for other R packages to
utilize. Headers are provided for calendar specific calculations,
